Having been in the home décor industry most of my life I have come across and seen many different designs, fashions, combinations of fabric and accessories. My philosophy is that it is an art and the artist is Y-O-U! You are the artist of your own home’s décor. Some may depend on themselves to pull a room together some may depend on others to help them and yet others will totally give the task over to hired help.
I have always found it the most fun to put it together myself. There is great fun looking high and low for just the right piece to work in a room’s atmosphere. Growing up in my mother’s home décor business I discovered rather quickly that Mother and I had very different ideas of decorating. Mother was a traditionalist. She loved the richness of a well-dressed and classy room. Mother loved the lines, the styles and the whole package including the fabrics and accessories to completely dress out a room I, on the other hand, also love the traditional with a flair of eclectic thrown in. I enjoy the unique one-of-a-kind, [or better known as OOAK] type things to throw in a rooms décor, changing it up to make an interesting ensemble with a twist. I love a room that has lots of ‘conversation’ pieces. I love telling stories of how I found this piece or sharing secrets of where I got it. One of my most favorite things to do is to mix fabrics. I love, love, love pulling an assortment of fabrics together for a room and I insist on no less than three different pieces and many times more. Sometimes I like just having one odd piece thrown in for that added interest. When it comes to accessorizing a room I have a fetish for chairs. What a great accent for any room, what a perfect accessory to throw in for that conversation piece. Yep, a chair has it all. Well, I stumbled across a website just this morning and felt I could not keep this a secret. I had to share it with someone and you just got elected. You have got to see it and experience it for yourself. But I must warn you – it is not for the faint of heart when it comes to decorating. It is bold! These are statement pieces and talk about striking up a conversation. These are definitely the ‘conversation piece’ for any room they resides in. This has it all. Mixed fabrics, fun looks and they all work [well in my book they do, you have to be your own judge.] It is an art to be able to mix fabric patterns and I give ‘Renewal Home Décor’ an A++ in achieving just that.
